Pilea peperomioides - Money Plant

Pilea peperomioides

The Money Plant is an unmistakable plant. The almost perfectly circle leaves gave way to fun names like, Pancake Plant and UFO Plant. A Norwegian missionary brought the plant home from China in the 1940's, making it a popular houseplant in the Western World.

Basic Care:

  • Light: It prefers medium to bright indirect light.
  • Water: Allow the top two inches of soil to dry out between watering.
  • Soil/Drainage: Well-draining soil mixes designed for cacti and succulents are ideal, though they can tolerate a standard houseplant mix if they are careful not to overwater.
  • Temperature/Humidity: Thrives in average room temperature and humidity.
