Hoya carnosa 'Compacta' (Hindu Rope Vine)
Hoya carnosa 'Compacta'
Hoya carnosa ‘Compacta’ features long trailing vines crowded with twisted, green waxy leaves, giving it a rope-like appearance. Occasional large clusters of night fragrant, waxy, pink star flowers appear. Plants rebloom multiple times on same stem spur so do not remove.
Once a Hoya starts to put on flower buds do not disturb it, and after it has bloomed don't remove the spent flowers. Allow the dead flowers to fall off on their own. This interesting plant doesn't like to be repotted unless it's absolutely necessary.
Hoya Basic Care: Medium
- Light: This plant prefers bright, indirect light and needs at least some natural light so place it somewhere with windows nearby.
- Water: Treat it like a succulent—allow the soil to dry out completely between watering.
- Soil/Drainage: This plant needs a well-draining soil mix.
- Temperature/Humidity: Normal household temperatures are acceptable. Higher humidity is preferred but not essential.
