Aesculus hippocastanum 'Baumanii'
An old variety but still a good choice for today’s landscape, ‘Baumnaii' European Horsechestnut is most known for its double white flower panicles with pink flecks. Typically fruitless, the mostly sterile flowers bloom longer and later than the species. A vigorous grower initially with a tall narrow oval form. The dark bark is somewhat exfoliating. While tolerant of many soil types and restricted root zones, this tree is sensitive to urban air pollution.
