Asparagus is extremely nutritious and has many health benefits. The ‘Viking KB3’ variety is a vigorous grower of extra heavy yields of tender, flavorful spears. Harvest by snapping 6 to 10” spears off at ground level. Limit harvest period to 6 to 8 weeks or until stems are pencil thin. Do not harvest the first year.
Asparagus is one of the more permanent vegetable crops in a garden. It typically produces for 10-15 years.
Planting Instructions:
- Dig a trench 6" deep.
- Place the roots in the trench, spreading the roots so they remain flat.
- Cover with 3" of soil and one growth begins, fill in the additional 3" soil.
